Insurance Coverage

Our group of expert attorneys are well-acquainted with the array of complex coverage questions that arise for insurance companies.  We provide counsel on a wide spectrum of issues in commercial, homeowners and automobile policies.  These issues range from construction indemnification agreements and related demands for coverage and defense, interpretation and application of exclusions in commercial general liability, homeowner and automobile policies, and complex insurance disputes between competing carriers.

Not only do we have experience in providing sound legal advice in complex issues of coverage, defense and indemnification, but also in litigating these questions by virtue of declaratory judgement actions.  Our counsel is routinely sought in matters such as catastrophic casualty events, serious and fatal injury claims, disputes involving general contractors, subcontractors and related construction disputes, as well as first party medical, income loss and UM and UIM claims.

Our Coverage Team provides a comprehensive approach from the initial investigation, providing coverage opinions, reservation of rights position letters and indemnification decisions through declaratory judgement litigation.  Our group provides these all-encompassing services for insurance companies and private clients alike.  We pride ourselves on providing sound, sensible, and practical advice to our clients in pursuing the enforcement of coverage opinions during litigation when necessary.

Commercial Litigation

The Commercial Litigation team represents public corporations, small to medium size businesses and insurance companies in virtually every type of dispute that can arise in the business context.  This includes breach of contract cases, partnership/joint venture disputes, class actions, business torts, civil RICO claims, breach of fiduciary duty allegations and shareholder issues.

The Mayers Firm recognizes that efficiency, creativity, and sound judgment are critical to achieve our clients’ goals. While all cases are prepared with an eye towards trial, our seasoned commercial litigators appreciate that we must at all times strive for the best possible outcomes for our clients at a reasonable cost.

Litigation today increasingly occurs in various venues from state and federal courts to private arbitrations and administrative hearings. Understanding the motivations and outlook of each participant to the litigation process, and the pros and cons of each forum, enable our team to develop and implement a creative legal approach to each individual problem.

At The Mayers Firm, we offer the expertise of a large firm, but with the service and rate structure that only a smaller firm can provide.

Personal Injury

Born from a lifetime of aggressively and successfully defending the most complex and significant personal injury claims of our Insurance Company clients and their insureds, The Personal Injury practice of The Mayers Firm was established. Not coincidentally when these same insurance claims executives and claims representatives needed representation of their own, their family and friends, who better to turn to then the same attorneys whom they have trusted with their most serious claims for over 30 years. The Personal Injury Group of The Mayers Firm renown for their reputation in the courtroom for representing defendants brings the same integrity, professionalism and passion to the representation of the severely injured.

At The Mayers Firm we understand, as do our clients, that the results we achieve are driven by our attention to detail and our thoroughness in the preparation of their case.
